Cookie policy
Version 1.0 — in force from 14 October 2026. It covers the ife-ets.org website. The controller is stated in the privacy notice.
In short. The site uses your browser's storage to remember your language and your cookie choice. Only if you consent does it also use Google Analytics 4 statistics cookies and, with separate consent, the Meta pixel for marketing. The two choices are independent. When you start filling in the application form, Google reCAPTCHA is also loaded to protect it from automated programs.
1. Technical tools, always active
- Chosen language (browser storage, key "ife-lingua"): remembers the language you chose, so you are not asked again. It stays on your device and is not sent to us.
- Cookie choice (browser storage, key "ife-consenso"): remembers what you chose, with the date and a random code for the choice. It lasts six months, then you are asked again.
- Form protection (Google reCAPTCHA): only on the Italian home page, when you start filling in the application form, Google reCAPTCHA is loaded to tell people apart from automated programs. It is necessary to send the form and may use the _GRECAPTCHA cookie, which lasts up to 6 months.
These tools are necessary for the site to work and do not require consent.
2. Statistics: Google Analytics 4, only with consent
If you choose "Statistics" or "Accept all", the site loads Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) to count visits and understand which pages are read. Before you choose, and if you refuse, no request is sent from the site to Google. Google Analytics is configured without Google signals and without ad personalisation.
- _ga: distinguishes visits; lasts up to 14 months.
- _ga_<code>: keeps the session state; lasts up to 14 months.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and Art. 6.1.a GDPR). Google may transfer data to the United States: the transfer is based on the adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
3. Marketing: Meta pixel, only with consent
If you choose "Marketing" or "Accept all", the site loads the Meta pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.), which lets us show our content on Facebook and Instagram to people who have visited the site and measure the results. Without this consent the pixel is not loaded. Meta's automatic events and automatic advanced matching are switched off.
- _fbp: recognises the browser for Meta; lasts 90 days.
- _fbc: created only if you arrive from a Meta ad; lasts 90 days.
Legal basis: your consent to the marketing category (Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and Art. 6.1.a GDPR). For the collection and transmission of data through the pixel, Meta is joint controller with us; for subsequent processing it is an independent controller, under its own privacy policy. This is profiling for advertising purposes, which you can refuse or withdraw without consequences for your use of the site.
4. Record of choices
To be able to prove consent, as the law requires of the controller, each choice is recorded on our server: date and time, what was chosen for each category and with which button, version of this policy and of the privacy notice, language and page, the random code of the choice and a non-reversible fingerprint of the network address. The address itself is not stored. The record is kept for five years, then deleted automatically.
5. How to change your mind
At the bottom of every page there is the "Cookie preferences" button: it reopens the choice, and you can withdraw consent at any time. If you withdraw, the Google Analytics and Meta cookies are deleted from your device. You can also clear the site's storage from your browser settings.
